6 months

Cody-Bear,
You are 6 months old today!  Its hard to believe half a year has flown by, but we sure are lovin it!  We have had a fun month with birthdays, and Easter in Westcliffe, a trip to Cheyenne and a 4-night sleepover at Nana's while Mom and Dad went to the ACM awards in Las Vegas. We were anxious to get home to see you and couldn't believe how much you changed in those few sort days.

You are so so happy and fulls of smiles, you can brighten anyone's day!

Cody, at 6 months old you:
~ love to be a "roley poley" you roll all over the room
~ take baths in the bumbo seat with your brother
~ sit in a high chair to eat (you eat cereal, bananas, apples, peaches, pears, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, and peas)
~ drool like crazy, it looks like you are about to cut two teeth
~ sleep on your tummy but still wake up twice in the night, then want to sleep in our bed
~ squeal and babble constantly
~ love to watch your brother play and try to be a part of whatever he is doing
~ are so laid back and content with whatever you are doing
~ laugh every time I sing to you...not sure what that is all about :)
~ like to play pat-a-cake and peek-a-boo
We love you so much and are so thankful to have you in our lives.
xoxo

Westcliffe

A couple weeks ago, we spent the weekend in Westcliffe to celebrate Emma's 2nd birthday and Easter with the cousins.  It was a fun weekend full of cupcakes and balloons, coloring Easter eggs, flying kites, Easter egg hunts, playing in the dirt, looking at chicks and pigs, and just spending time with all of our wonderful family.

'Nowing!!!

We got a wonderful spring storm this weekend, with lots of snow.  Jackson gets so excited when it snows he runs to the window and yells "'nowing".  And that boy is a snow bunny-he wants to play outside every chance he gets, and does not want to come inside even when his cheeks are bright red, he can barely move his lips, and his gloves are caked with snow.

Our driveway was the perfect sledding hill since there was  layer of ice underneath the snow.

 Dad and Cody
Jackson's friend Madison came over to play, too.
 Big helper!
Ok, I'll come inside if I can watch Thomas in the living room.  So, we made him a bed in the living room...
...and he was out for a 3 hour nap!

Our little Cody-Bear, you are 5 months old!!!

Cody, at 5 months you:
~ Roll and scoot all over
~ Sit up with support
~ Still sleep in our bedroom, we have set up your bed in Jackson's room, but we haven't moved you in there yet
~ Still wake up 1 or 2 times per night and take 2 naps per day
~ smile, laugh and giggle all the time
~ reach and grab at anything that is in your sight- faces, hair, cups, clothes, whatever you can get a hold of
~ love to watch Jackson play and are so ready to jump in and play with him
~ you are so easy going and just seem to take it all in
We love you so much!!!!
XOXOXO

Spaghetti Squash

Yesterday I tried something different-spaghetti squash alfredo boats with a kale salad. ( and a bread stick from Papa Johns) The salad was great...the squash, well lets just say it is no substitute for pasta.  It was pretty rich and maybe would have been better as a side dish.  Jackson was definitely not a fan. And Chris gave it good effort.  And said he would try spaghetti squash again if it was prepared differently.  I'm not sure if almost goring myself trying to cut through the darn thing is worth a second try.  We might just have to stick to pasta alfredo.

cereal face

So, I was so excited to start cereal with Cody, I poured the little rice flakes in the bowl and set them right in front of him while I went and heated up the milk. I turned around and this was what I saw. He was so excited he didn't want to wait or me to mix it all up, he just picked up the bowl and started licking it.  SO funny!

After we got that cleaned up and mixed the cereal we got to see the funny cereal faces! The ones that say what is this? What is that spoon for? Where is my bottle?

This is just the beginning of the whole world of food exploration.

Ok, this cereal stuff isn't sooo bad.

Next up on the menu- sweet potatoes and apples!
