Oldies but Goodies

These pictures were taken back in January on Chris's birthday, but I just love them so I am posting them on here.

Merry Christmas!

Well, as usual I forgot to take pictures of our family Christmas, but we did have a wonderful time with the WHOLE Cable family all together!!  We watched football, opened presents, played cards, played trains, did crafts, cried and laughed, and had great times together.  The unfortunate part of Christmas this year was that it was my turn to take call and my first time working on Christmas.  Jackson woke up at 4:30 Christmas morning and wanted so badly to go downstairs and see his train table cause he was so curious to see what this "Santa" thing was all about. So, I told him we had to wait until Cody woke up and we could go see. Cody promptly woke up at 6:00 and then of course my pager went off at 6:05 and I had to go to work.  So I grabbed the boys, grabbed my camera and we ran downstairs to see what Santa brought.  New train tracks for Jackson and a basketball hoop for Cody, and oranges at the bottom of their stockings.  They were so happy and it was so cute to watch the magic light up their faces.  I snapped a bunch of pictures then ran out the door, and I cried the whole way to work because I wanted to stay and watch them soak up all the fun.  It was a busy day at work, but I was glad to help save lives.  It was a constant reminder of the reason we are celebrating Christmas, and our Savior that was born on Christmas day had to make the sacrifice to save us!

5K's and Ice Skates

This weekend was filled with fun out in the cold.  It started out early Saturday morning with the Mustache Dache in the 22 degree freezing cold.  But Karly, Lacy and I  rocked it and improved our time from our last run by alomost 10 minutes and finished in 32 minutes, Hooray.

Then, after meeting all my college girlfriends for lunch I came home to more playing in the snow with these two cuties. We finished the night with The Hunger Games movie, stayed up way to late, then crashed as soon as our heads hit the pillow.

The next morning we figured we needed more time in the freezing cold and thought we would take Jackson ice skating for the first time.  He wasn't quite sure at first but once we got the hang of it a little we had a lot of fun!  And, no one fell down!!!

Cody had fun watching with Daddy and Nana and clapped everytime we skated by.  Overall, a fun-filled, freezing cold, fantastic weekend! So thankful for our wonderful family!

Steamboat

Last weekend we took a trip to Steamboat with Chris's mom and Uncle Cam.  It was a beautiful trip with lots of colors.  Jackson collected a bunch of leaves to take home. Our neighbors happened to be there celebrating their anniversary, and we all took a walk to Fish Creek Falls, it was chilly but worth the trip.  We had a great dinner at a steakhouse where there was a huge grill and you got to cook your own meet.  It was delicious.  The drive home was very snowy and lots of cars were sliding off the road, we were happy to be out of the scary snowy passes!

Pumpkin Patch

After Cody's party, we went to the pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins.  Cody was way more interested in the wagon ride than the pumpkin picking.  Jackson wanted to pick out his own pumpkins and carry them all by himself.
