Remembering Dad

November 28th marked the 1 year anniversary of Dad's passing. I can't believe it has been a year, the time went by fast but our memories are still engraved in our hearts as if it was yesterday.

My wedding day was a very special time. I remember sitting in the room all by myself waiting for the time to come to walk down the aisle to meet my Groom....and in walked Dad. He gave me a big hug, with tears on his cheek, and wanted to apologize for not being the best Dad he could be and asked if it was too late to start now. I told him it was never too late-and from that day on we became great friends and shared many memories and stories and started to make up for the lost years.

I didn't know we would only have a year and a half to do so.  But that year and a half was great. We drove to Rapid City several times to spend time with Dad, we had many great phone conversations, Chris got to know Dad and how wonderful he is-he even shook Chris's hand and told him he loved him and to take care of his daughter the last time we saw him-that was very special! And Dad got to meet his first Grandson-Mason. He was a proud Papaw!!!! Now he has two more grandchildren on the way, they won't be able to know him as we do, but they will sure hear about his many stories and accomplishments.

I heard the song  "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" the other day and that song was sung to me and Leanne every year at Christmas, and he even sang it to Mason last year when we visited him at the hospital. Thank you Dad for that memory!

I will never forget our Father-Daughter dance, and I can't wait to dance with you again!
I miss you!
I love you more better bestest!!
