Vietnam Memorial

The traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall made a stop in Fort Collins over Memorial Day weekend so we took a little trip out to see it.  It was humbling to see all the names on the wall of people who fought for our country and had a part in the freedom that we have today.  There were thousands of names...all people who had a family here that they never could return home too.  It is so sad to think about, but it was so nice to see such an honorable recognition of each individual who gave their lives for us.  While we were there they read the names of each of the soldiers from a podium. It felt like a graduation as they were reading all their names, but no one walked up to receive their award/diploma.  (they had been reading the names for hours before we got there and they were only on the B's-they were reading them 24 hours a day with soldiers standing guard the whole time).  What a great experience.
And to all of our past, present and future servicemen and women:  Thank you!!!

John A. La Voo was a friend of my mom and my Uncle Steve growing up, he was killed when his plane was shot down  in September of 1968.

The Memorial was next to a beautiful park, so of course we had to go play at the park.  Jackson and Cody loved crawling through the tunnels.
